This offering is a guided experience model for learning through practice. I offer a series of practices of breathwork, chair yoga, and guided meditation that focusses on using the breath and gentle movement as a means to elicit the relaxation response. For each component, I explain how it can be practiced throughout the day. The breathing techniques are designed to stimulate the vagus nerve which aides in eliciting the relaxation response and activating the para-sympathetic nervous system. The chair yoga is specifically tailored to address issues from sitting in front of a computer screen and targets neck, shoulders, arms and wrist and upper back stretches. The meditation is a guided practice using any one of several foundational approaches for guided mindfulness meditation practice to help with training the mind to focus.
