This offering is a guided experience model for learning through practice. I offer a series of
practices of breathwork, chair yoga, and guided meditation that focuses on using the breath
and gentle movement as a means to elicit the relaxation response. For each component, I
explain how it can be practiced throughout the day. The breathing techniques are designed to
stimulate the vagus nerve which aides in eliciting the relaxation response and activating the
parasympathetic nervous system. The chair yoga is specifically tailored to address issues from
sitting in front of a computer screen and targets neck, shoulders, arms and wrist and upper back
stretches. The meditation is a guided practice using any one of several foundational
approaches for guided mindfulness meditation practice to help with training the mind to focus.
